Frequently asked questions

Why another habit-building app?
We don't want to build another habit-building app. Our mission is to build a community-driven, curated productivity platform that covers all aspects of productivity advice: “What”, “Why”, “When”, “How”. Most importantly, to collaborate on what advice is actually effective versus what is not.
How does UpStep work?
A central piece is a “Step”: a universal, bite-sized piece of advice, whether it's a one-time setup, repeated habit, or a mindset shift. Steps are moderated and organized by tags by the moderators. You can bookmark, rate, personalize your exact action, and the “Why?” reason you want to do it.
How do I track my progress?
You can either accept a challenge and check in daily, or regularly update your progress from the “My Progress” page.
What is an anchor?
Steps you bookmarked appear in the “My Routine” page, where you can bind them to anchors/triggers during a day. This could be a time-bound, e.g., “At 09:00 AM”, or anchored to some event, e.g., “On get up”.
